Louisville, Ky. – Sept. 4, 2024 – Four players representing the Big 12, ACC and Big Ten were named to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll for their performances in week one of the college football season. Making the list are Quali Conley, Arizona; Travis Hunter, Colorado; Desmond Reid, Pitt; and Nicholas Singleton, Penn State.
For his performance in Colorado’s win over FCS powerhouse North Dakota State, Hunter will be honored by the National College Football Awards Association as the Paul Hornung Award Player-of-the-Week.

Presented by Texas Roadhouse, Award Given to Nation’s Most Versatile Player
Louisville, Ky. – Aug. 1, 2024 – Forty-eight players representing nine conferences plus one independent school that compete for the Football Bowl Series have been selected for the 2024 Paul Hornung Award Pre-Season Watch List.
Now in its 15th season, the Paul Hornung Award is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football by the Louisville Sports Commission in memory of the late football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung. The winner and his family will be honored at the annual Paul Hornung Award dinner in Louisville, Ky., in March 2025.

Award for Most Versatile Player in Major College Football Presented by Texas Roadhouse
Louisville, Ky. – Dec. 6, 2023 – Colorado sophomore cornerback / wide receiver Travis Hunter, an impact athlete who finished the regular season as the most prolific two-way player in FBS by averaging 119 snaps per game, was named winner of the 2023 Paul Hornung Award given annually to the most versatile player in major college football.

Award will Honor the Legacy of the Late Dr. Raymond Shea
Louisville, Ky. – Feb. 21, 2024 – The Louisville Sports Commission and UofL Health announced today a partnership to create a national award that recognizes excellence in sports health and athlete performance.
The Dr. Raymond Shea Health & Performance Champion Award will acknowledge individuals for their dedication and commitment to the overall health of college athletes. Dr. Shea was an orthopedic surgeon affiliated with UofL Health – Jewish Hospital and team physician for the University of Louisville football team for more than 30 years. Eligible individuals include physical therapists, athletic trainers, nutritionists, strength coaches and orthopedic specialists, as well as those who provide support for emotional and mental health.

Event Will Honor Colorado’s Travis Hunter as the Most Versatile Player in Major College Football
Louisville, Ky. – Feb. 7, 2024 – Laura Rutledge, host of ESPN’s year-round weekday NFL news and information show NFL Live and SEC Network’s SEC Nation, will be the featured speaker at the 14th annual Paul Hornung Award Ceremony to be held on March 8, 2024, at the Galt House Hotel in downtown Louisville.
