Louisville, Ky. – Oct. 14, 2025 – Five players representing the ACC, Mountain West, Big

Ten and Mid American Conferences were named to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll for their performances in week seven of the college football season. Making the list are Chris Barnes, Wake Forest; Parker Kingston, BYU; King Miller, USC; Koi Perich, Minnesota; and Cameron Pettaway, Bowling Green.

The National College Football Awards Association will honor Miller as the Paul Hornung Award Player-of-the-Week for his performance in the Trojans’ conference win over Michigan.

Wake Forest freshman wide receiver / return specialist Chris Barnes touched the ball six times three different ways and scored three times as the Demon Deacons overwhelmed Oregon State in Corvallis, 39-14. Barnes scored on touchdown receptions of 36, 11 and 55 yards as Wake built a 32-0 lead by mid-third quarter and ran their record to 4-2 on the season. Barnes also carried the ball one time and returned two kickoffs for 63 yards.

BYU junior wide receiver / return specialist Parker Kingston touched the ball 10 times three different ways and scored once as the Cougars overcame a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat Arizona in Tucson 33-27 in overtime and remain unbeaten. Parker had five catches for 117 yards, including a 75-yard scoring strike in the second quarter, and accounted for four first downs from scrimmage, including three on scoring drives. He fair caught three punts and late in the game returned a punt 26 yards into Arizona territory to set up BYU’s tying touchdown with less than a minutes in regulation.

USC freshman running back / return specialist King Miller touched the ball 22 times rushing, receiving and returning kicks and scored once as the Trojans’ upped their record to 5-1 by handling Michigan 31-13 in the Coliseum. Miller carried the ball 18 times for 151 yards, scored on a 15-yard run in the third quarter that put the game out of reach, and accounted for eight first downs from scrimmage, including six on scoring drives. He caught two passes for 14 yards and returned two kickoffs for 45 yards.

Minnesota sophomore defensive back / return specialist Koi Perich was a stalwart on defense, returned punts and kickoffs and scored the winning touchdown on a fourth quarter pick six as the Golden Gophers held off Purdue at home, 27-20. Perich recorded five tackles, including two solos stops; handled two kickoff returns; and returned three punts for 16 yards. Late in the fourth quarter, Perich returned an interception 27 yards for a score as Minnesota ran its record to 4-2 and 3-1 in the Big Ten.

Bowling Green freshman running back / return specialist Cameron Pettaway touched the ball seven times three different ways and scored twice as the Falcons overcame a 21-0 deficit to defeat Toledo 28-23 at home in a battle along I-75. Pettaway caught two touchdown passes, the first for 45 yards just before halftime for BGSU’s first score; and the second a 73-yard bomb late in the fourth quarter that tied the score at 21. Pettaway also carried the ball twice and returned two kickoffs for 50 yards.

The Louisville Sports Commission successfully launched the Paul Hornung Award in 2010 to honor its namesake and native son, and to promote outstanding performances by versatile college football players who often go unnoticed. Each week during the regular season, a panel of college football experts selects players for the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll based on performance. A national selection committee comprised of 18 sports journalists and former NFL stars votes for the Hornung Award finalists and the winner, with fan voting powered by Texas Roadhouse comprising the 19th vote.
